Bringing New Life to an Old Bungalow: The Story Behind Bungalow Coffee House

From an old bungalow house to a new community gathering place
Before the coffee was poured, before the tables were filled, and before the doors opened to the community, Bungalow Coffee House was simply an older bungalow waiting for its next chapter.
When the owners of Bungalow Coffee Shop first approached us, they had a vision that extended far beyond serving great coffee. They wanted to create a place where people could gather, slow down, and feel at home. Rather than starting from the ground up, they chose to breathe new life into an existing bungalow, preserving its character while transforming it into something entirely new.
We were honored to help shape that vision through design development and inspiration renderings that helped bring their ideas to life.

Every renovation begins with understanding what is already there.
The original bungalow carried its own history, character, and charm. Our goal was not to erase those qualities, but to help imagine how the space could be thoughtfully adapted into something new while still honoring the feeling of the original home.

Before construction began, we worked alongside the owners to develop a visual direction for the project. Using inspiration renderings, we explored how the exterior could evolve while preserving the warmth and personality of the original bungalow. These renderings became an important communication tool, allowing ideas to be refined and decisions to be made with confidence before construction ever started. For us, renderings are much more than illustrations—they're the bridge between imagination and reality. We were thrilled to see how owner Ellie Hayes, who runs the coffee house, took and ran with the idea and made the space even more her own!

Every room presented an opportunity to reimagine how the existing home could function as a coffee shop while maintaining the cozy atmosphere that makes bungalow homes so inviting.
The goal wasn't to erase the home's history. It was to build upon it.

There is something incredibly special about watching an idea move from a drawing into a real place.
Seeing the finished Bungalow Coffee Shop after months of planning, construction, and hard work has been an incredible experience. The transformation honors the original bungalow while creating a completely new purpose for the space. What was once a home is now a place where neighbors can meet, friends can catch up, and the community can gather. That is the magic of thoughtful design (and incredible clients)—taking what exists and imagining what it could become.

Thank You for Letting Us Be Part of the Story
We are incredibly grateful to the owners of Bungalow Coffee Shop for trusting us to help develop the vision for this project and for allowing us to share a behind-the-scenes look at the process.
From the original bungalow to the inspiration renderings, to the completed coffee shop, this project represents why we love what we do.

Great spaces do not happen by accident. They begin with a vision, a plan, and people willing to bring that vision to life.
Congratulations to Bungalow Coffee Shop on your grand opening on August 3rd, 20206! We cannot wait to see all of the memories made within these walls. Best wishes from Lottie Mae and Lula!
Ps. to all of our community members, go and pay them a visit and try their coffee!!
